Our vision is to see our future generation of scholars reach their highest potentials in the acquisition of knowledge. We hope that one day a person will be able to become a cardiac surgeon and at the same time be firmly grounded in the Islamic sciences. In other words, we hope to develop people who have the potentials to become experts in both religious and secular sciences.
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
“This world and what is in it are accursed except for the remembrance of Allah, that which Allah loves, a person of knowledge, and the student of knowledge” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi)
The scholars, such as Imam An-Nawawi (rahimahullah), describe seeking knowledge of matters which people can’t do without as Fard Kifayah (communally obligatory). And this includes both the detailed sciences of the din and of the dunya (Al-Majmu’ 1/26).
Spring Foundation through its various projects and activities, hopes to support the community to fulfil this communal obligation by enabling dedicated students to combine the best of both worlds and therefore hopes to develop:
- Mufassirs who are also cardiac surgeons
- Muhaddiths who are also industry heads
- Muftis who are also administrators
- Qadis who are also psychiatrists
- Faqihs who are also barristers
- Hafizs who are also accountants
- Imams who are also social workers
- Alims who are also psychologists
Our dream is to produce the likes of Imam al-Shafi’i, Ibn Khaldun, Al-Ghazzali, Ibn Taymiyyah and others, who were well-versed in the sacred sciences and at the same time had ample knowledge of the worldly sciences. Our dream is to reinstate the status of the ummah as the ummah of faith and knowledge as it was in the past.
