The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
“When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him”. (Muslim, Tirmidhi and others)
From this hadith we can see the great benefit of gaining knowledge as well as supporting the spread of knowledge and spending in the way of Allah. When we die we will take nothing with us except for our deeds. All our works will end except for ongoing charity (Sadaqa Jariah), knowledge that benefits others and righteous offspring. By donating to Spring Foundation not only will you be able to contribute towards Sadaqa Jariah but you will also be contributing towards the spread of knowledge and towards creating a brighter future for our future generations.
Your money will help to lift the burden of Fad Kifaya (communal obligation) from the rest of the community. If there are no learned people among us to guide us in matters of our din and matters of our daily living then all of us will be held accountable for failing to produce such people.
There is a great deal of confusion and misunderstanding in the west about Islam and the Muslims and there are few who are capable of presenting the true image of Islam due to ignorance and lack of correct knowledge. Therefore your contributions will help to disseminate the true message of Islam to the wider community and dispel all misunderstandings and false accusations.
Finally every penny that you give will be an investment for the hereafter. Allah will reward you abundantly for your generosity in the hereafter. Allah (swt) has said in His Noble Book:
“The likeness of those who spend for Allah’s sake is as the likeness of a grain of corn, it grows seven ears every single ear has a hundred grains, and Allah multiplies (increases the reward of) for whom He wills, and Allah is sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower).” (Surah al-Baqarah:261)
Likewise the Messenger of Allah (saw) said in a hadith:
“Allah receives charity by His right hand, and then He causes it to grow for each of you. Just as you raise a horse, colt, foal, or young weaned camel, so that morsel becomes as large as the mount of Uhud” (Reportded by Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi who gared it Sahih)
The scholarship fund will focus on two work streams and hopes to bring several benefits to the Muslim community. Work streams are as follows:
- Support trainee imams (graduates) with an extensive scholarship programme
- Offer educational support to those individuals who want to enhance their Knowledge in the respective Islamic sciences.
Be part of this great initiative and help SF enrich the Ummah by developing and building great men and women to lead our communities.
