We feel that it is our duty to support such people as they are among the best of Allah’s servant and the most deserving of His support and mercy. That is because the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

“For him who adopts a path of seeking knowledge, Allah eases the way in Paradise, and Angels spread their wings for the seekers of knowledge, being pleased with his occupation, and all that is in the heavens and the Earth including the fish in the water, ask for his forgiveness. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets and the Prophets do not leave an inheritance of dirhams and dinars, but only of knowledge. He who acquires knowledge acquires a vast portion." (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and others)

Therefore the aim of our scholarship fund is to spread out our hands of support to those for whom the angels spread out their wings. Furthermore we believe that supporting the seekers of sacred knowledge is equivalent to supporting those who strive in the path of Allah with all their possessions. That is because our beloved Messenger (saw) said:

“He who goes forth to seek knowledge is in the way of Allah” (Tirmidhi)

 

The scholarship fund will focus on two work streams and hopes to bring several benefits to the Muslim community. Work streams are as follows:

• Support trainee imams (graduates) with an extensive scholarship programme.

• Offer educational support to those individuals who want to enhance their Knowledge in the respective Islamic sciences.

The SF scholarship fund will support students who wish to undertake long term studies at one of the reputable Islamic Institutions both here in the west or/and in the Muslim world. In doing so, we expect no reward or gratitude from them. We only expect from them their full commitment to learn and then to serve their community. We also hope that upon completing their formal quest for knowledge they will come back to play a pivotal role in spreading Islam to the wider community and defending it against all forms of falsehood and extremism.
