Eligibility Criteria

  •     Spring Foundation Scholarship Fund
In order to qualify for the scholarship fund students must display a genuine willingness to learn and have ample time and energy to dedicate to seeking knowledge. Imam al-Shafi’i described the qualities of a successful student of knowledge in the following terms:

“My brother you shall not attain knowledge except with six (qualities) I shall inform you of their meanings with clarity: intelligence (Dhakaa’); desire and willingness (Hirs); diligence and hard work (Ijtihad); sufficiency and competence (Bulgha); companionship of a teacher (Suhbatu Ustadh); and abundant time (Tul al-Zaman)” (Translated from Diwan al-Shafi’i)

It is our hope to seek out students who fulfil all the six qualities outlined by Imam al-Shafi’i in the above poem. Therefore through our thorough and careful selection process we hope to bring together the most excellent students who are committed, apt and intelligent.
